As the new year approaches, many people reflect on the past year to assess what went well and what didn’t, aiming to create a plan for improvement in the coming year. Many people set New Year’s resolutions to be healthier or improve themselves, but few manage to stay disciplined and follow through. A deep desire and strong will can only take a person so far.
In the Bible, God declares that those who are in Christ are new creations, that we’re not what we were before. Accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour is not a one-time change; it’s an ongoing process. We can keep growing by relying on the strength of Christ and the Holy Spirit’s work in us. When we make resolutions that align with God’s will, God’s Spirit will help us follow it through to completion.
Dear Christian, are you relying on God’s Spirit to help you depend on God’s strength to do God’s will?
