Today, many people and nations desperately need to reconcile with one another, and though some are able to work out short-term solutions, true reconciliation that leads to lasting peace remains an impossible dream.
People and nations cannot achieve reconciliation with one another when they have yet to reconcile with God. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and until each person is able to get right with God, how can they reconcile with one another? It is only in and through Christ that we can put off our old sin nature and put on Christ’s righteousness, and reconcile with God, receiving His Spirit in the process. The Spirit than allows us to reconcile with others who have themselves reconciled with God.
