Colossians 3:12

We were dead in our sins, devoid of compassion, unkind, proud, arrogant, impatient and not very nice in general towards others. While we were sinners, God chose us because of His love for us, not because of our own righteousness, which the LORD describes as filthy rags.

Thanks to Jesus’s sacrifice and His Spirit at work in us, we have become God’s children. If we are God’s children, we are to be imitators of Christ, that is, we ought to be the exact opposite of who we were before Jesus saved us. Our lives are to reject the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Dear Christian, is your life as a follower of Jesus reflecting His love and the fruit of the Spirit?
