You scratch my back, and I’ll scratch yours.
We live in a world where if a person does good to another or helps someone, they expect something in return of equal or greater benefit to them. A thank you alone isn’t sufficient, no matter how much the recipient means it.
The God of the Bible teaches us to bless others without expecting anything in return, not even thanks. The LORD wants us to bless others out of love for Jesus, considering how blessed we ourselves are in Christ. When we bless and do good to others as the Spirit leads us, we’re doing God’s will, and the LORD Himself blesses us, as He sees fit. We shouldn’t do good to others to be blessed, but the LORD is loving enough to bless us when we bless others in His love.
Dear Christian, do you bless others to reflect Christ’s love OR to be blessed by God?
