In our society, common courtesy dictates that we give thanks when they’ve received something from another, be it assistance, a product or service. Basically, if a person hasn’t benefited directly, there’s no reason for them to say thanks to another. People who are self-centred or uncultured, don’t even bother saying thanks when they should.
We who have placed our trust and faith in Jesus, not only give thanks for our salvation, but also the many practical blessings the LORD pours over us because of Jesus. However, even if the LORD were to not bless us practically, thanks to the Spirit of Jesus dwelling in us, we can thank the LORD simply because He is good and He loves us. Similarly, we are able to thank others for who they are, not because we benefit from them somehow.
Dear Christian, are you grateful for and thankful to the LORD for His goodness and love that is yours because of Jesus?
