In the world, people do have love for one another, but this love is conditional. If you behave in a way that meets my approval and/or give me what I want, which could be affection, gifts etc, then I will love you. The moment the condition is broken, the love ceases, no matter who the parties are or how they’re related, yes, even between parents and children!
The Bible tells us that not only does God love us, He is the very definition of love, as is written in 1 John 4:8. God proves His love in that while we were sinners, His enemies, God sent Jesus His Son to die for our sins so that those who respond to His invitation, would be cleansed and get right with Him and experience His love forever! We can only do this because of God Spirit at work in us, and the same Spirit then helps us to love others the same way Jesus loves us!
