Everyone has someone they love. When we think of what we could give to someone else to express our love for them, I imagine giving one’s life is the ultimate sacrifice one can make for the sake of another, especially the one they love. But truth is, not many are willing to do this for the person they love, certainly not for a stranger!
The Bible tells us that we are all sinners and enemies of God, unable to do anything on our own to get right with God. However, while we were in this hopeless state, Jesus paid the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross. Not only were we strangers to Jesus, but we were also the reason He chose to go to the cross, because of His/God’s love for us. Jesus humbled Himself to not only come to earth as a human, but He also died for our sins so that we can become children of God!
Dear Christian, you may not need to give up your life for other Christians, but do you lovingly and sacrificially put them first because Jesus did the same for you?
