We know that our flesh is weak, and that it is easily tempted by the sinful passions and desires of this world. Christians sin when we give into temptation instead of resisting it.
We cannot resist temptation in our own strength. Having a strong desire to resist temptation, is not the same as actually resisting temptation. Will power might work for a time, but it’s not sustainable.
We need the Holy Spirit to help us daily crucify our sinful passions and desires so that we can walk in the victory that the Lord Jesus has purchased for us.
May the LORD help us to go to Him daily in humility so that we can continue to mature in our faith and be more like Jesus.
