Humility is not a common character trait in the world. On the contrary, not only is humility is seen as a weakness, most people are proud for one reason or another. It’s the kind of pride that God looks down on.
In the Bible, we learn that God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. God’s grace is a free gift, and this gift is available to those who humble themselves before Him, a humility that is not brought about by human effort, but by the work of the Holy Spirit. The LORD richly blesses those who are humble before Him and have a reverent fear of Him, as the Spirit works in them.
Dear Christian, are you relying on the Holy Spirit to humble yourself before the LORD and fear Him?
