Challenges and trials are a part of life, and none of us are immune to this reality. Many people try to hide from their problems by indulging in some sort of vice, like drinking and drugs just to name a few. Unfortunately, while these outlets might offer a quick escape, it’s only temporary and once the effect or pleasure wears off, the reality of the despair they were trying to flee, greets them once again with a vengeance.
We who have placed our trust and faith in Jesus can boldly approach our Father at any time. He loves us and delights in being our hiding place and our shield. Unlike the temporary nature of what this world offers, we Christians have eternal hope because of Jesus and His promises to us in God’s Word.
Dear Christian, when you’re facing trouble, do you run to the LORD and take refuge in His Word OR do you indulge in the temporary pleasures of this world?
