It takes endurance to run and finish a marathon, and it takes disciplined training to build up that endurance.
Life is like a marathon, and most consider their education and lived experience to be the training necessary to run the marathon that is life. Some compete with one another, while others are simply wanting to finish the race, to do their personal best. Just like marathon runners train together and run together, and so is the case in life where people try to encourage one another and work together for their mutual benefit. Reality is, people are selfish and self serving, and only truly watch out for themselves.
Jesus teaches us to love and serve one another by following the example He set, and has granted us His Spirit to achieve what is impossible for us to do alone. It is the LORD who allows us to run the race with endurance by helping us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the finish line, and strengthening us through His Spirit to encourage one another and glorify God together. It’s far different from the selfish way of the world.
Dear Christian, are you relying on the Spirit to live in unity and desiring to glorify God with fellow Christians?
