Romans 8:11

When we were dead in our sin, it was not our efforts that saved us, it was the Holy Spirit who worked in us to bring us back to life in Christ. Apart from Jesus, we cannot live a life that pleases our Father. Just as we couldn’t save ourselves, nor can we live godly lives in our own strength. We need the Holy Spirit to continually work in us so that we will bear the fruit of the Spirit, becoming more like Jesus as time passes. It is the Holy Spirit who helps us to be the salt and light we are called to be, who then works in others to work out salvation in them, the same way He did in us.
